How do you get flawless skin?

I've tried about everything, but nothing seems to really keep off any blemishes. I've also heard that if you have bad acne when you are young, then you will have clear skin when you get older. Is this true?

How do you get flawless skin?
Well, for some lucky people it clears when you get older. Pimples are caused by bacteria on your skin getting trapped in the pores by excess oil. Your body attacks the bacteria making a little red inflamed mound. I have found that you just have to try new soaps and moisturizers until you get a system that works for you. Right now I use a mild face soap (not bar soap! too harsh) and lots of moisturizer (especially in the winter). If you over dry your face it will produce more oil to compensate and as a result more bacteria will be trapped in your pores, the bacteria is the enemy, not your oil. Also, exfoliate your skin once a week b/c dead skin cells help to trap the bacteria in your pores. If it is really bad you can go to a dermatologist and they can prescribe a potent acne medication for you.
Reply:That's a Herculean task!
Reply:Drink lots of purified water and squeeze a lemon in it .

Must be purified water and must be Organic Lemon.

Drink at least a quart of this daily.

Also, do not use any soaps or chemicals on your skin. Just purified water and lemon juice if it is oily skin.

This will give you beautiful skin.
Reply:Sometimes it's true but not always I'm the only one who has had any acne at all as a teen all my family get acne as a adult

I just put on lots of makeup to get my skin looking flawless
Reply:WATER WATER WATER, and PURE water at that. Evian or Aquafina!

Lines on my skin?!!?!?!?!?!?!?

:S okay im 15 years old and the last few days ive been tanning on a black been bag for 3 hours from 12-5pm and i didnt use sun screen and lately im noticing lines on my skin some deeper than other EW im sfraid now i stopped tanning because of this but its not going away soooooo what can i use on my skin to make it younger again im so stupid for tanning but w.e i learned my lesson

Lines on my skin?!!?!?!?!?!?!?
You're making this up.
Reply:Tan lines maybe?
Reply:ok the first thing you have to do is get out of the sun..but you've already figured that out. the next thing to do is to start wearing sunscreen everytime you step outside...use a moisturizer with spf..EVERY DAY. I can't stress that enough.

Now, you're still young so your skin will recover. Use some aloe and cocoa butter on your skin. Drink plenty of water. You'll be fine and you're lucky that you learned your lesson now while you're still young.
Reply:haha..wrinkles...haha...idiot...haha!!
Reply:Maybe they are stretch marks cocoa butter or bio oil are good for any skin problems from ageing to blemishes.
Reply:i would say that you should go to the hospital because you never know you might have an effection from tanning and a docter can perscribe the right oitments or medication to get rid of the lines because if you buy creme or oitment it might irritate the skin even more and cause a more serious situation.
Reply:The #1 reason we age is tanning - so it's a tough price to pay (trust me I know) I use the re9 regime by Arbonne it does reverse some of the damage done by the sun it's not cheap but worth every dime for people who wants results and have an 'issue'..
Reply:You tanned from 12-5? That would cook you inside out.

How can I help my very oily skin?

I used to have very dry skin when I was younger. Now I am almost 30 and my skin just keeps getting oiler and oiler. I do not have acne or blackheads but I do have large pores. I use a pack of blotting papers in a week and I'm still OILY! I hear that witch hazel is a good product to try but where do I find it, what does it look like and what is the recommended usage of it?

I have already read tons of postings from other people about oily skin but they all seemed to be teenagers. I am constantly embarassed by my skin and really need some advice. I am seriously thinking about seeing a dermatologist but I have to wonder if insurance would pay for the medication they subscribe.

Any thoughts are welcomed.

Thanks!

How can I help my very oily skin?
Witch hazel comes in a bottle something like rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. It's not even expensive. It's also not terribly effective, but since it's cheap, give it a try if you want.

I had oily skin as an adult, too. What helped was

--wash GENTLY (no scrubbing, even if I'm breaking out) two times a day with a very mild soap

--blot mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and mid-evening, no more

--use a non-comedogenic (is that the word?) liquid foundation, if you use foundation, which specifies a matte finish

--use a powder intended for oily skin, with a matte finish, designed to counter shine (I like Cornsilk and come back to it after every experimental purchase.)

--and the biggie, even though it seems counterintuitive, is MOISTURIZE.

What? Yeah, I know. But for me, the oily skin was my body's normal reaction to me stripping away the oils by washing, blotting, wiping down, and such, many times a day. My body replaced those oils, and then some.

Once I started using a very light moisturizer (for me, Neutrogena “Moisture” oil-free for sensitive skin or L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise “Futur*e Moisturizer” + a Daily Dose of Pure Vitamin e, Normal to Dry Skin are favorites, and anything containing sunscreen was a failure), my oily skin got a whole lot less oily.

I hope it does the same for you.
Reply:Your insurance should cover at least some one the medications due to them being given via prescription.

Witch hazel can be bought in stores such as Wal-Mart, Walgreens, and CVS. It is usually with the facial removal products. I would try using a power on your face and not an oil based make-up. You might have to pay more for it, but if it helps you feel better about your face then it's worth it.
Reply:I had the same problem and I'm 30, I currently use Cliniques facial cleansing system for oily skin (but most skin care lines for oily skin will work). Just make sure all your face products are oil-free, and yes witch hazel is good, but it's useless if you're using make-up that has oil in it.

Good Luck

And I also use this every night before I go to bed. I know that this is a Mary Kay product, but it really helps with acne and it is a great cleanser.

http://www.marykay.com/skincare/cleanser...

I use this after every shower that I take. All it is is just a lotion that you rub over the acne or anything like that and it will help it go away a whole lot faster. The only down side is that it is a prescription that your doctor will need to prescribe you, too. But don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with it and it works super well. It is extremely cheap and easy to get at any pharmacy.

And the main thing that I do that helps my acne go away really fast is if I go swimming in a pool that has Chlorine in it. Chlorine is a cleanser and it actually helps clean your skin and it makes my acne go away a whole lot faster than the leading brands. So I would recommend this way more than the others above just because it is a fun and enjoyable way to get rid of the acne.

I hope that you can find your answer within some of these websites. These are all great products and they really help and work for the acne problem. Good luck!

A Mole appeared, could it be Skin Cancer?

Im in the age range of 12-15 and I just got a new little ity bity mole on my finger. Could it be skin cancer? Should I see a doctor? Im really worried about it because im really young and dont want to have skin cancer. It dosen't run in the family....and it has me worried sick. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! THANK you sooooo much!!! ~cookiedough~

A Mole appeared, could it be Skin Cancer?
Hello!! Lol im that age too!!! well yea, i dont know, you SHOULD seee a doctor ust to make sure but it does not always have to be cancer. if it really doesnt run in your family then im sure it isnt!!! but you should still see... Well yea hope i helped!! luv,

~Nonna~
Reply:NO, sounds like just a mole. I would not worry about it
Reply:i think you have wart. if you go to your local surgery your doctor will remove it for you it will need to freeze first . it won't hurt. good luck
Reply:I think at this point it's unlikely that it's skin cancer. If the mole starts to grow, get inflamed or bleed from the center....then you need to have it checked out.

I had a mole on my neck since birth. Only after about 20 years did I have to have it removed. Hope this helps!
Reply:are you sure it's a mole and not a wart,go to the nearest pharmacy and buy something to remove warts. If after 2 weeks it's still there go to your family doctor. They'll do a biopsey on it,don't get yourself sick till you find out it could just be a cist and can be removed no problem
Reply:should never ever use wart remover on a mole. if you are so worried which you probably should not be go see a dermatologist.
Reply:the question is how much time do you spend in the sun? it could be skin cancer if it doesnot go away you might want to see your doctor.
Reply:Well first of all, are you sure it's a mole? If it is, just keep an eye on it, and if it begins to change colors or shape, then you should go to the doctor.
Reply:i wold not worry about that and by the way it's the colts foot ball team becaue thats where i go to school why who are you do you go there to?

I want to keep my skin very healthy looking?

so that it looks nice when i am older. i already:

-wear sunscreen anytime it is sunny, i never tan or lay out

-use lotion constantly

-dont wear makeup

-use sensitive skin astringent ( to help keep it clean durring the day without washing)

what are some products for young wemon to use so our skin can be its best, now and for the future?

I want to keep my skin very healthy looking?
drink lots of water.. eat healthy.. and take vitamin e, vitamin c, zinc and b vitamins..

also one thing i do as an exfoliate is i scrub my face with an electric toothbrush.. it's sounds kinda weird but it works.. it really cleans out your pores and removes dead skin, oil and dirt.. you can use any scrub ya like.. i like to use st. ives.. and i do it about three times a week..

hope this helps..
Reply:I know you are looking for products, but diet is really important along with drinking lots of water, etc...on a side note I think that fish is really good for it...I've seen a lot of people who main food is fish and they look great...but it may be a coincidence.
Reply:Arbonne has great products. They are clean, non-irritating, no dyes, preservatives, no clogging. They just make you feel good when you use them....i love them, they make your skin feel clean, fresh and alive....i am not kidding either. I think it is because they are so chemical free. Obagi is good too. You do not need a prescription for most of the Obagi products, until it comes time where you might need some extra help,,like maybe 40s or 50s...lol, otherwise no prescription for either. They both come in kits or separates and have all you need. They will both ward off the signs of aging. I am 32 and pass for 25....all the time. Arbonne would have something perfect for you. If you want info u can contact me or else Google it. I do not like soliciting on here. Personally i do not like anything that can be bought at any dept store.

Oh yes and drink plenty of water and eat well. You need protein, omega acids, fruit. Take your vitamins. B vitamins carry all the oxygen and iron around and those keep your skin oxygenated. sometimes give your face a break from any products. Exfoliate! Thats a biggie.

BTW Arbonne is never tested on animals.....if u Google u can find the best prices!!
Reply:you should eat more vegetable and fruits because it helps nurture your skin naturally. last but not least, excercise regularly b/c it helps your blood flow ---%26gt; ur skin would look very healthy looking. give it a try, it's worthy
Reply:I use Origins "Have a nice day cream" with SPF. It's good in winter and also in the summer. It's my miracle cream. I also use Clinique's three step system. But if you don't want to spend a whole lot(though it's worth it) then you can use Vaseline Intensive Care lotions, Nivea, or Lubriderm. Clean and Clear makes a really good line of products for your face. It's good to keep a good eye on your diet, as a previous poster mentioned drinking your recommended amount of water. And enrich your diet with fruits and vegetables especially those rich in Vitamin E(the vitamin that gives your skin a healthy looking glow!) But the key to good skin is MOISTURIZE!!! Even if you have oily skin or in humid seasons, don't be fooled, our skin needs moisture. Good luck in your quest for healthy skin!
Reply:u can try faceshop pr0ducts..umm i tht u can try skinlitte masks frm sasa too..i tht u can try coenzyme masks..i used that for my sensitive skin..btw choose moisturizer that has the labels that have the label of non-comdegenic..umm u can use steffi, u can get frm guardian..but its abit oily soo dont put too thick..try to apply only at nite..u shld use pr0tect0r instead of sunscreen..umm beside i tht u shld go for facial..u can try sg website 88db,which has the highly recommended facial salon..facial can help to purify ur face deeply and clean..

Lipstick/Eyeshadow Colors for Asian (yellow-tinted) skin?

I find that most lipstick and eye shadow colors have a tendency to make me look a little cheap or young. Any color recommendations for Asian skin? I have somewhat yellow/orange tinted skin and most colors seem to clash on my skin color.

Lipstick/Eyeshadow Colors for Asian (yellow-tinted) skin?
Hi im chinese/vietnamese

well GOLDS ARE GORGEOUS !!

peach, bronze pinks, peach pinks, and I LOVE golden pinks! these really make your eyes pop! trust me on this. They look even better paired with a dark grey eyeliner such as stila smudge pots. Try any colour with a gold or peach undertone. Try a colour such as honey lust eyeshadow by mac. If you are more daring try out a golden orange shade.

Browns are very neutral and are also great for more natural looks... or even for dramatic looks try woodwinked by mac.

Honestly the colours you SHOULD AVOID are cool tone pinks with sliver shimmer over the whole eye lid, or most silvery blues. The best thing to do if your not sure on what you are doing is to avoid cool silvery shades.

They safest thing you can do is go to any cosmetic counter they should help you out. Go to a mac counter and let them show you your best colours they are truly friendly even if you dont buy anything. dont be shy!

for blush try a shimmery peach.... its Is too lovely on our skintone.

try a gold pinks for lip colours or go bold with frushia. Try the mattine mc colour in poise.avoid lipsticks with bluish undertones in dark reds and purples

good luck!

Reply:for sallow sking (yellowish hue), you want to avoid yellow based colors for your eyes. You might want to use a pink-based foundations.

the best colors for your eyes are cool colors- like blues, plums, pinks, .. anything on the right side of the color wheel.
Reply:okay, my friend had this problem, asians work best with pinks and nudes, but if you feel compelled to do a red, make sure its the kind that you paint on so that you can mix it with your foundation to give it a more yellow undertone
Reply:eyeshadow, i use the almay trio eyeshadow kit.

you probably have brown eyes, so get the purple trio.

and you can also get eyeliner too.

it works so GREAT on me, and makes my eyes look bigger. btw, i'm asian too =D

Brown skin ?

im chocolate coloured i want to know what product i can use to make me skin get that glow and no i dont want to bleach but i want to help my skin im not getting younger

Brown skin ?
You can get special facial masks for that I think. I also use facial wipes, it keeps your skin clean and fresh. Oh yeah, cocoa butter is VERY good for that. Once, i had put some cocoa butter on and my friends thought i was wearing foundation when i wasnt! LOL

Well thats all i can really think of.
Reply:First get the all natural moisturizer (no oils or alcohol) called Hydrating Creme Concentrate by Bee-Luscious. This is the best moisturizer and will give you a more healthy skin. Then use their Bronzer it is also all natural and bismuth free. You will definitely have a real healthy glow. You can find all of this at www.beeroyalproducts.com.
Reply:Use flour all over your body that way you will be white!!!

Terrible skin problem. Help?

Ok. These past few months, I have had the worst breakouts ever! I have pimples on literally my entire face. I have a few big ones, then around them are a zillion small ones. And the areas are very red too. I've tried everything, Proactive, Clean%26amp;Clear, Biore, etc. When I first start to use a product my skin will look a little clearer, but then it just comes right back in a few days! I dont wear ANY make-up either. My parents didn't have bad skin when they were younger. and im only 12!!! please help me

Terrible skin problem. Help?
This is A cheap but wonderful way to clear it all up. I am 47, since highschool, I cleaned my face with Listerine, twice a day. Morning and night. Recently my daughter (18) asked me to order Proactive as she had her monthly breakout. I told her before I did, to at least try this and within a week her face would be perfectly clear. The next day she came to me and said look, it worked almost over night. the trick is ALWAYS make sure you keep you hands away from your face as the carry more germs and dirt then you can imagine. Take a cottonball and Listerine. Clean you face, in the morning, after school and before bed. After your breakout has cleared, use only twice a day. Bacteria is the main cause of breakouts and with Listerine being antiseptic, it cleans the bacteria away. Use if over your nose and forehead area at least twice. You'll need more than one cottonball as you won't believe the dirt that comes off your face. At first you might feel tingling, but your face will feel clean and fresh when finished. Just try it at least a week before spend big bucks for market products.

Reply:You should ask your parents to bring you to a dermatologist. I tried a lot of over the counter meds, and nothing worked. If your acne is bad enough, your dermatologist might reccomend you go on Accutane, which causes all of your oil glands to dry up and your acne will disappear after a few weeks. My skin was clear for about four years after going on accutane, but has recently started breaking out again.... but those four years i was virtually blemish-free

Reply:Do you think you might have and allergy?? my sister and i are allergic to milk, and we used to have a REALLY REALLY rough time. try to change you diet a bit, like no more junk food (ex. no chocolate, MacDonald's, stuff like that) and drink lots of water. wash your face regularly!!!!!!!! that is the MOST important thing! in the morning, then at night. i know it's a bit of effort, but it will make a difference.

I hope it gets better soon!
Reply:Be sure to use your skin care products both day and night and also be sure to change your pillow cases regularly.

You'd be surprised what a difference changing the pillow cases can make.

Also be sure to drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest and do your best to eat a healthy diet.

Which was worse, Imus using racial slurs, or questioning those young ladies virtue?

I haven't heard anything about the latter. I have heard that people should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Isn't calling a young lady a whore, prejudging their character?

Which was worse, Imus using racial slurs, or questioning those young ladies virtue?
I never heard that he used racial slurs. I thought he used the term "nappy" in reference to them, alone. If this is the case, his calling them "hoes" was worse.

The reference to their hair didn't sound very racially charged, though. He seemed to be ridiculing them, because of how bad their hair looked. I am not sure he would have said the same thing if they had more presentable hairstyles.

I am not defending him, though. That half of the statement made was derogatory, I take his statement as a conjunctive insult.

It's with my face skin and teeth.please help me!?

well i've got a few questions,

1-why most of the people's face skin is worse and darker than their body's skin?

well sure it's because of sun.

what can we do then to improve our skin just like the other parts'of our skin, healthier, lighter and younger?

2-my face is a bit oily, and it shines more than other people's,though my friends appreciate it's beauty.

since i don't like to use any foundations ,what is the recommendation?

3-i've got some very little blackheads(?) on my skin, what they are called i guess!

i mean those brown little heads caused by sun.

i've got some few on my nose, chin and down my eyes.

how can i get rid of?

4-i am out of home 3 days a week, the whole day.

my teeth are really bad and easy to get cavities(?)!

my dentist says that i am being unlucky for that.

since i can't brush my teeth outdoors, what should i be doing then?

will a mouthwasher(?) work after having lunch?

what kind of lunch would be better for me?

is bread on it's own bad for me?

***is that true that orbit's chewing gum, protects our teeth?wouldn't it bring cavities to our mouth?for it's chemical sweeteners?

does salty things, such as chips, damages our teeth?

what should i do?

please help me!

It's with my face skin and teeth.please help me!?
hi...I used to be concerns with all those myself. here are my suggestions.

1) I use face lotion that has 15 spf. 30 is too much for my face although i know quite a few people who uses 30. 30 leaves my face more oily since i have combination skin...and the 15 works just fine. my favorite products are Oil of Olay facial moisturizer and Garnier.

2) I definitely don't like to use foundation and I think it does more harm to the health of my face. I also think foundation is unattractive when people put layers of it on. I use Shiseido face wash (you can get them at Macy's in the cosmetic area.) it leaves my face soft and not dry and doesn't create a lot of oils thru out the day. If i have a lot of excess oil, i'll use johnson and johnson blue oil blotters.

3) pore strips! biore is a good brand for that...and i'm starting to use it every week. u definitely see the result with this product instantly. use it right and leave it on until it hardens like an eggshell...then peel them off after that.

4) i brush my teeth at work....keep a spare of toothbrush and toothpaste and floss. salty snacks will damage your teeth as much as sweets if you're prone to cavities.

all of the products i mentioned above are available for an affordable price. the most expensive might be shiseido...but it's worth the investment.

Question On Skin Care?

Well I am 23 years old, but I know that I have heard to beat aging early and to reduce wrinkles when you are older, to start caring for your skin when you are younger, I do take care of my skin, but with all of the products out there, what do you recommend to prevent aging and improve appearance of the skin? What are some good face creams that moisturize, I love Avon would you recommend any of their creams? or do you have any tips? thank you!!!

Question On Skin Care?
This Bio-oil I saw in like, three magazines is supposed to give you results in around 2 months. A lot of people are talking about it. (It is found and Wal-greens) It makes scars, stretch marks, aging skin, uneven skintones, and dehydrated skin go away.

I would also suggest the new Elizabeth Arden pore minimizer if that's what you are aiming for. It reduces your pore sizes. It can be found at department stores.

I haven't used the avon stuff.. Sorry. :(

In the shower in the morning exfoliate to get your blood moving. Also I agree with eating well and taking vitamins and minerals.

If you don't work out at least take a little walk during the day too.

Can i prevent getting flabby skin after weight loss?

I'm planning a 100lbs weight loss over the next year or so. I'm scared of getting flappy skin after tho. I'm 20, so i'm still fairly young and should (hopefully) have elastic skin. But just in case, are there any products i can use to make my skin tighter or help prevent the flabby skin and maybe even stretch marks?

Can i prevent getting flabby skin after weight loss?
The best thing you can do is ensure you dont lose the weight too quickly,,ur lucky ur young so ur skin will still have a lot of elasticity.

Also u gota exercise,,,cardio will lose the weight and weight training will tone the skin while u lose weight.

Good luck, Im also trying to lose some weight rite now...its really hard but keep ur focus!

Reply:I've lost 100lbs. I lost it slowly with a healthy diet and exercised and do a lot of weight training. I have no flabby skin.
Reply:Just do situps and pushups daily and that will make the skin tighter. As long as you do that during the weight loss period you have nothing to worry about. As long as your not having surgery. Good Luck!!

MAYBE SOME BLEACHING?? IS THAT EXPENSIVE?? PLEASE HELP ME!!

Skin Problem please help!!!!?
Many do have this problem of dark armpits and thighs. Try out this method and see if this helps you. First apply lime juice to the area .Leave it for five minutes. As and when it becomes dry add a little more .Then take some sugar and scrub in that area. Since the part is very sensitive do it very slowly. do not rub hard, you'll scratch the part.Leave it and wash it off. Do it twice a week. In the night before you go to sleep take rose water glycerine and limejuice in equal parts and apply. Wash it off in the morning. Try this out and let me know the result. Do not use deo directly on the skin.Even this creates the dark patches under armpits. This doesnt have any sideeffects as it makes use of all natural products. It works wonders. All the best
Reply:Anal bleaching is all the rage in Hollywood right now. If you can lighten the skin back there - why can't you bleach the skin around your cooch? Report It

Reply:Hey chica try this.....My husband bought me Neutrogena advanced solutions(at home micro Dermabrasion system for face(shh I also use it for other parts of the body too). He bought it at walmart. Keep the box and recipe if it doesn't work for you or if your skin reacts to it I believe 30 days.

It is about $30.00. I use it and I use it for my husband too. It enhances surface cell turnover for visibly fresher , smoother , baby soft skin.

Oily skin is driving me insane!!! Please help me?

I have very oily skin, i even use makeup that is specifically for oily skin..but still 3 hours later my face is oily again..my dermatologist told me to use Almay products and i have used those for about 2-3 weeks now..but to no help..i've used everything under the sun it seems like Covergirl, Mary Kay, Revlon, Neutragena(sp?) Maybellene..but nothing works..and i can't go out and spend a bunch of money on foundation..also, i have slight blemishes even though i am young and the foundation for oily skin doesn't completely cover them which is pretty embarrassing sometimes..does anyone know of anything that will not make my skin such an oil pit? I'm willing to try anything! Thank you soo much.

Oily skin is driving me insane!!! Please help me?
start washing yourself more. when in soap yourself in the shower, make sure you rub your body well enough to get all your deadskin and oil off your skin. also if you want your face and body to look less oily. use powder to cover it up. bring powder around so you can use it when you see that your face is oily.
Reply:i have found that pro-active works wonders. I also like MAC's face primer, it sets your make-up all day. Best foundation by far is Clinque Clarifying!! Good luck!
Reply:I love the prescriptives flawless skin foundation %26amp; powder they are oil free %26amp; I apply them with foundation brush. Also there is a makeup setter called model in a bottle that you can find online @ website with same name, it sets your makeup %26amp; seems to keep my oily skin @ bay for most of day. I also sometimes will use a rice powder paper in natural that you can find at sally's beauty supply.
Reply:get blotting tissues. when your face gets oily you just dab them on your face and it soaks up the oil. they are cheap too... also try using an exfoliating cream.... and wear less makeup becasue that sounds like it could be you problem. and use powder cover up instead of liquid
Reply:drenk lot of water atleast 3liters a day and put drop of lemon...
Reply:drink LOTS of water %26amp; use mary kay oil mattifier %26amp; acne treatment gel. that's the only over the counter product that worked for my skin.

I hope this helps if it does not email me and I'll give u another way to get ride of oily skin.
Reply:i suggest you wash your face AT LEAST twice a day...once before school/work then right before bed........use DIAL soap FIRST then use CLINQUE face wash.....after ur face is dry, use a cotton swab and put on CLINQUE astringent (can't spell) it may burn.......that's ok.....and if that doesn't work.....try using a powder instead of cream to cover ur face when wearing makeup..... apply powder throughout day to cover up oil.......Oh, and try to use a face mask that reduces oil too....
Reply:Try Neautrogena Black Head Eliminating Scrub. Its for blackheads but my God does it try out your skin! I had very old skin and I used it and within 2 days I saw such a difference! Look for products with "salicylic acid" because that is what will dry your skin. Don't overuse them though because trust me, you don't want dry skin either!
Reply:i've been through it. stop using so much makeup. just wash your face 3-5 times a day, and you can also buy blotting sheets(you can use this at school, its quick, just dab and the oil is gone) drink lots of water...you've probably heard this before, but it works.....if you still need something...brush a little baby powder on the oil parts of your face...it absorbs excess oil

Reply:I have really oily skin too, so I know how you feel. First of all, DO NOT wash your face more than twice a day! This can actually stimulate the oil glands to produce more oil! Secondly, use a face wash specifically for oily skin (Collective Wellbeing makes a fantastic one!), use toner then a mattifying moisturizer (Oil of Olay Complete all day moisture lotion SPF 15 for combination/oily skin works pretty well). I use Bare Escentuals mineral foundation, which I love. It has great coverage and, as it's a powder, does help to control the oil. Before I use this though, I use Dr. Feelgood by Benefit. It's a face balm that helps to sop up the oil. I also use it throughout the day over my makeup (it's sheer) to help with the greasies, or I use Clean %26amp; Clear's blotting sheets. Remember to wash your face well at night and to use a good clay based mask once or twice a week to help keep your pores clean and your face less oily. I would recommend a good moisturizer at night (you can go for a heavier product here) because, even if your skin is oily, it still needs moisture and nutrients. Hope this helps and good luck!
Reply:I have extremely oily skin too and I just switched to Arbonne Products. They have a line that is for acne but it treats oily skin. A peppermint cleanser, toner and lotion. It smells great and works really well too. Also, it does not dry your skin. They also have a vitamin supplement to help with that problem.
Reply:Wash your face frequently with cold water and use a face pack of grated apple. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for oily skin at the link provided.
Reply:IDK FEEL LIKE READING ALL THAT

so make sure there is NO oil in facewash u use

Reply:For what? Weight really has nothing to do with a tattoo as far as being too young. But yes, you are. You are still growing physically, emotionally and mentally. Wait it out to decide when you are older and ready to do something which is for life. General maturity is a key I think.
Reply:Too young for what? Too young for a tattoo? If you're talking about a tattoo I would say yeah... Not many tattoo artists will tattoo a 13 year old. I would wait until you're a little older... Make sure you know what you want. Tattoos are forever. They should be a beautiful reminder. Good luck. :)

Saggy skin solutions???

I just lost A LOT of weight, and I've got really baggy skin! I'm still very young, and I feel like I look way older! Excercising has helped, but, being a college student, I don't have enough time to hang out much less exercise the right way! Is there an affordable, effective cream or lotion that will help out with this? This is a huge problem!

Saggy skin solutions???
Mix ketchup, oats, egg yolks, and pickle juice. I know this sounds weird, but just try it!! It helped my mom's friend's cousin's daughter.
Reply:Congrats on your weight lost and I hope you have continued success in weight maintenance.

Don't know about the mixture stuff but exercise, drinking water, time and keeping my skin moistured has helped me. f you have a lot of loose skin/you've done the weight loss and gain a lot of times before - surgery with the scars maybe your only option if it's something you're really concerned about.
Reply:go to amerimark.com the name is yam cream or www.avon.com for the tummy lift you can be happy with the results
Reply:Great that you lost the weight, next to smoking excess weight is the best thing to get rid of. You should be extremely proud of your effort. Okay now to tackle the issue. You need to find the time for exercise, not only will it help you keep the weight off but will tone the body as well. The skin is very resilient. Also go to a site named www.notaquitter.com and get some 100% Silver Cream. They ship world wide so you will have no problem. And again, kudos to you, keep it up!!!
Reply:to gain muscle exercise every 48 hours even if it's just squats, pushups and situps

creams with retinol help

drink lots of water and fruits and veggies

you will need protein so eat fish and lean meat as well as legumes so you have the source for muscle

my friends swear by mud masks and by banana masks just fresh banana

if your skin is really wrinkled and sagging then you will have to see a dr for it but try these tricks first
Reply:Give it time, it'll go away. Remember, fat is stored at the cellular level and your cells are still there, just empty now. They'll tighten up, just stick to lots of water and a natural diet. Time lasts forever, only we are in a hurry...Show patience, you've already done the hard part!
Reply:Did you exercise while losing the weight or just not eat much? If you exercised properly, you shouldn't have much loose skin. If you think it's worth it, look into having it surgically removed. If it's medically necessary, you may get your insurance to pay for it. My first advice would be to see a doctor/nutritionist and ask their advice. If they think it can be corrected through proper diet and exercise, they'll tell you and show you how. Hit the gym and firm it up before trying anything surgical.

try soulglow...lol
Reply:Try Ponds, or oil of ole washes and creams. It works for my wife.
Reply:Do a colon/yeast/parasite body flush and your skin will go back to how it was when you were a baby....baby!
Reply:Exfoliate once (or twice if you have an oily complexion) a week. Drink lots of water (the 8 glasses a day can do wonders). Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Find a moisturizer that works with your skin. For dept store brands, I recommend Estee Lauder's day wear as a day cream. For night, maybe a little heavier, like Chanel.

Also, for a temporary fix, use a luminizing lotion under or instead of foundation, I love Benefit's Hollywood Glo...

Hope it works!
Reply:Mary Kay has some great skin care products that will help you with that. For example the microderm abrasion will remove all the dull skin and bring back the natural glow to your face. we have a great miracle set that has everything in it that includes cleanser to moisturizer. Check it out on my website.
Reply:Try skincare products that contain alpha or beta hydroxy. I recently started using Neutrogena's line and it has made a huge difference. No matter what you decide to put on your skin, don't forget to drink plenty of water. Hydration is the key to younger looking skin.
Reply:i had this same problem.i tried a lot of creams and night creams.believe ,use of chemicals is the only way to lose your glow and moisture.so i tried some natural face packs it worked.mix of banana and papaya gives you natural glow and clear skin.after that use cucumber juice to tighten you r skin, drink lots of water, avoid junk food, look at your face after a few weeks............wow! wht a glowing beautiful clear skin

What hair and makeup tips are there to look older? i look 15, am in college and seriously.. i look too young.?
If you are fifteen and in college, then you are smart enough to know better than try to be something you are not!

I would recomend something like Pur Minerals or Bare Essentials. Black mascara that does not clump. Lip gloss.
Reply:IF YOU CAN CLEARLY READ I AM NOT FIFTEEN. I NEVER SAID I WAS. SO THAT COMMENT IS COMPLETELY USELESS. Report It

Reply:you guys are ******* stupid.

sorry but she said she looks 15.

not she is. Report It

Reply:ok first of all you should wear black eyeliner, and wear it thick, wear a lot of mascara and curl your eyelashes. Plus try to wear a purse on your left arm so you could look totallly sophisticated! Wear your hair down, straighten it and wear bangs to your left side and make them sort, like let them cover your brows a little bit, and wear lip gloss! this should work out great!
Reply:You are lucky... why would you want to encourage the process of looking old... Ole people want to look young and young people want to look old. Be gratefull that you are you.

If you're in college and you look 15 then when you are 30 you will look 20. Be greatfull !!
Reply:I'm 15 and in College to UHHHHHHHH!!! Just try black mascara on your top lashes only of couse maybe just a little on the bottoms. I like never ever tried eyeliner so I can't tell ya about that. Use a Peachey blush and brown shimmer eye shadow. That might look good, Good luck sis

Is it true that Royal Jelly and Vitamin E capsuls make the skin beautiful and younger looking?

Although there's no conclusive scientific evidence, I've heard that it can. Royal Jelly also has a lot of other health benefits. And Vitamin E is always good for skin.

Is it true that Royal Jelly and Vitamin E capsuls make the skin beautiful and younger looking?
No.
Reply:Yes, sounds good. Go spend some money at the dermatologist and they will tell you.
Reply:i think soo...u can use Q10 mask which will help u to prevent wrinkles...u can also use citronella mask frm sg website at 88db to prevent wrinkles frm forming...u can also use meiji collagen which will help to make u look younger..
Reply:they can..but most vitamin E products out there are synthetic and cause more damage to the skin. so make sure its completely natural. its been proven that those with a diet high in vitamin E have fewer pimples and wrinkles than those who have little vitamin E. and royal jelly is pretty good as well, but again, make sure its not synthetic

Why white men think light skin black women are more pretty?

I always wanted to know bc I'm light skin black women in my young 20's and Why they think we more hot then dark skin black women. I see alot of pretty dark skin black women that look better then us light skin black women. I think the reason why white men likes us more bc they want there babies still come out white i guess. But I think it's bc they think we are more attractive, less attiude and etc.,

I'm not worrying about who and what white men attractive to, This is not about skin color or race, This is not about light skin vs. dark skin. I jsut have to get this question off my chest.

Please give me a real answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why white men think light skin black women are more pretty?
it bothers me too

i am light skinned and have green eyes and straight hair and i get this crap too

it is the idea of being a darker version of a white woman

people think the ideal beauty is a blonde, blue eyed white woman and the further you get away from that, the more someone is considered "ugly"

most black people around the world would have very dark skin if not for various forms of miscegenation

black is black and all people are beautiful

black is beautiful..black is me

Reply:people are attracted scientifically to one that has at least one feature similar to theirs. maybe the contrast of dominant features of dark women are just too different from the white guys to find comminality for traditional sexual attraction.
Reply:I thought it was the other way around... I see more white men with dark women.
Reply:You got it backwards babe.

White men are mostly attracted to darker skinned black girls.

Black men on the other hand prefer the lighter skinned ones.

What you don't have eh...?
Reply:Thanks for the 2 points and you're completely wrong. Why you would post this to me would seem you're not Black at all, but a troll taking up space on this forum. No strong Black woman light-skinned or darker-skinned would post such stupidity and race baiting on a public forum such as this. Why do you keep posing as Black when you're not.
Reply:How many times are you gonna ask these questions?! There are women with attitudes of many RACES. Skin color has nothing to do with that. And the white men I date, don't prefer light skin black women. They just like women. Get your head out of your butt. You are not all that. You are very insecure!
Reply:I don't think so. Stereotypically white men are supposed to be attracted to light skin black women, but I don't see any proof of that. And no, proof isn't pointing out a random biracial couple in the mall or something. Proof is statistics on every white man in the world showing he is dating or married to a light-skinned black woman.
Reply:Honey, youvé got that all wrong!! Light skinned women have way more attitude from my experience, and white men tend to like dark skinned women.

You are trying to create conflict, you probably think you are better that darker women, huh?? Then get a life. I'm mixed and i think that if i had to choose between being light or dark skinned i would be dark skinned. It looks better in my opinion.

Men like women period!!!
Reply:Are you sure it isn't YOU that thinks light-skinned black women are hotter than darker-skinned black women????????
Reply:well, im mixed with black %26amp; white. my bf is white. before me he dated a mixed girl %26amp; before that, a black girl VERY DARK!!! But very pretty. he is an all american boy, loves sports, blonde hair %26amp; blue eyes, but he just loves ethnic women. I think it doesnt matter %26amp; to make your statement true, you would have to know all the white men in the world.
Reply:i think its dumb for you to say that white men like them..there are many white men who don't...don't assume they all do...
Reply:It'd prob be better to go out and ask them. Maybe you could take a survey or something.
Reply:I'm a light skin Afriacan American I don't think I'm better than darker skin person. Some white men may be attracted to us and some might not. Mostly I see them with darker skin black women. I think its rare to see a light skin black girl with white white man. So you don't forget We are just a light shade of black we are still black.
Reply:Personally I think most men like a pretty face but not because it's light or dark.
Reply:OMG Mia shut the ***** up. Ive told you this TIME AND TME AGAIN! You make absolutely NO SENSE with the kinds of questions you post.
Reply:Sorry girl it's the other way around. Black guys like light skinned girls. Every relationship i've seen in REAL LIFE that's with a black girl and white guy the women has dark skin.
Reply:Because light skinned black women look closer to white women. Light skinned black women have more white blood in them.
Reply:hahhaa. i love how you kissed all the dark skinned girl's a**es, but um, I see what you mean. I'm light skinned %26amp; biracial (bw) so I get hit on all the time by black guys. I'm not personally attracted to them...Idk why, but I could be pals w. them. I could rarely do that b.c they are so horny all the time...lol...so that rarely ever happens, sadly.
Reply:Most of them may think like that because of the media and the stereotypes ( attitude , etc ) , but some of them think that light skinned black women are prettier because they actually love the color , just like other white men love darker skin more

By the way I read the answers people gave and I'm very '' disappointed '' ( aka pissed ) that they actually generalize the whole group of light skinned black women : they're very proud or that black men chase after them because they're lighter , etc ( some do , some don't ) , not to mention that in REAL life white men go only after darker women , that they don't chase after light or medium skinned black women ...

Bottom Line is that guys has different tastes , some chase after darker , some chase after lighter , some chase after medium , etc so please do not generalize or limit every guys tastes ( every male in existence ) to one specific group
Reply:because they are mixed
Reply:my friends would make fun of me if i dated a light skin black woman

What can I do to make my skin (face) look younger%26gt;?
Nurture it and feed it natural products instead of petro-chemicals.

Try this for a quick perk-up:

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup powdered oats (just plain oatmeal)

1 teaspoon of your favorite booze, Rum, vodka, whatever

mix together...

add enough water to make a paste

warm your skin with almost hot wash cloth to open pores and loosen dead dry skin cells

spread mixture on your face

leave it on for a few minutes

rub gently while rinsing so the baking soda helps gently efoliate

Rinse.

Rub a couple of drops of light oil on your skin

Youthful radiant GLOW. Try it, you'll love it.
Reply:This will depend on what are your are, but here are a few tips

Make-up

At the age of thirty, that tried and tested make-up routine we've used for years suddenly finds itself inappropriate and a drastic re-think is necessary.

Of course, we shouldn't rely purely on cosmetics to give ourselves a healthy, youthful appearance, but use it instead as a way of enhancing our natural beauty. Here are a few tips to give nature a helping hand:

1. Use automatic tanning creams (such as Clarins) rather than sunbathing or sun-beds. There are many excellent creams available now which don't leave you looking like streaky bacon!

2. Try dyeing your eyebrows and eyelashes. It's best to ask a friend to help or visit a salon.

Pluck away any unruly eyebrow hair with the help of a magnifying mirror. To keep them in shape all day, try running some clear hair-gel or clear mascara through them.

3. Bleach or wax away unwanted facial hair and pluck out any long hairs from your chin, or consider electrolysis.

4. Always use a good moisturiser every day after cleansing - make sure it is compatible with your skin type, the cheaper brands are sometimes better than the expensive ones. Always protect your face from the sun with a sun cream of minimum factor 30.

5. Try this instant skin hydrator:- Near bed-time smother your face with petroleum jelly and leave for 10 minutes. Tissue-off and see how soft your skin feels!

6. For concealing laughter lines and crow's feet around the eyes, invest in a lotion which tightens the skin as it dries. These lotions are generally available through most department stores.

7. Lines can also be concealed by using a white nail pencil - draw a thin line right inside the furrow or wrinkle - especially those which appear from the nose to the corners of the mouth and those between the eyebrows. Apply your foundation over the top as usual.

8. Use a highlighting fluid or a concealer stick on dark circles around the eyes. Try to avoid cream or stick foundation around the eyes as this will gather in the furrows! Liquid foundations work best here, try to avoid using powder.

9. Blusher should be a applied sparingly, it is better to have a healthy glow from a tanning cream than to apply too much blusher which will look false and out of date. Try using a cream blush or even a lipstick for a more natural look.

10. Use more natural shades of lipstick - it is easier to apply the lipstick after you have filled-in your lips with pencil to prevent 'bleeding'. Use a sharp pencil which is the same colour as the lipstick, or by the end of the day you will be left with a dark pencil outline only!
Reply:Green tea has long been known as a powerful antiaging skincare ingredient that can help firm or depuff the skin, along with being a great antioxidant. Green tea helps make fine lines and wrinkles look smaller, so drink a cup a day and feel/see the difference!!
Reply:Best home made herbal tip is that...a tablespoon of honey and tsp of lemon and few drops of rose water mix together apply it for half n hour, wash it off do it daily nd see the difference. U can also use gold face pack which is available here http://www.shahnaz-husain.com, she has office in UK and usa. ALL THE BEST.....
Reply:try nivea q10 it works or olay the one with 7x on it it realy works and you can also use bio oil
Reply:Face lift, Botox, professional skin treatment! (dermatology)

Is there any way other than plasitc surgery to get rid of extra skin left from weight loss?

I lost a lot of weight really quickly and it has left me with ugly amounts of skin on my back and tummy. Is there any other way to get rid of it besides surgery? I'm young and I have good skin so I assumed it would go away but it isn't.

Is there any way other than plasitc surgery to get rid of extra skin left from weight loss?
Tummy tuck surgery is very safe nowadays. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

I MUST find info about a young black girl ft. in a teen mag w/ jellylike deformed face, sent to US for surgery

Please help me! A few years back I read an article that touched my heart so strongly (it was either either CosmoGIRL or Seventeen magazine) about a young foreign girl with dark skin from a far country who's face was severely deformed. She was born normal and then as she grew older her face became severly deformed, something about the bones turning jellylike. There was a photo and it showed her face almost blown-up looking, and really droopy. I cannot recall the medical condition. She was sent to the US for surgery and her face was drastically improved, although she is still disfigured. I cannot recall her name.

The magazine said how to help her, such as by sending cards or money, but sadly my mom recycled that magazine unknowing that I needed it. I still want to help her or relocate the article. I've searched Google endlessly! Please help me. Anyone with ANY information to what I am talking about PLEASE send it to me here or at my email given on Yahoo Answers.

How to make skin whiter,or to original color after sun burn ?

when i was younger i remember my skin being very white and now its gotten very dark, i been working on the hot sun allmost all day this past years, but not any more and i want my original color back! what can i use or do please help !!!! better if it is some thing i can found at my house

How to make skin whiter,or to original color after sun burn ?
you can use the whitening soap. i tried it and it worked!
Reply:Three things:

1. Sunscreen EVERY day from now on (high SPF).

2. Exfoliate every day.

3. Simply wait. Your skin cells have a fairly high turnover rate and will slough off old dead cells quickly, but you may have to wait a few years before you see significantly lighter skin. Yes. Years. Sun damage goes very deeply, and in some cases cannot be repaired without a doctor, a laser and a lot of discomfort.

I have a question about my skin?

When I was younger, I had beautiful skin...but now I have this pitted skin( I think that is what they call it..it is little indentures). It is only on my face. Is that caused from acne, or can it be from something else? I have had some acne in my life, but this last year it has gotten worse, and I didn't think I had that much acne recently. I am only 35 and have had this problem for the last 8 years or so. If you know what this is, please let me know. I would also like to know some products that might help. Is there anything that will just make them go away? I have heard about laser surgery. Thanks everyone.

I have a question about my skin?
They may be large pores, or perhaps acne scars. If they are scars, you can do an egg facial and it will really help.

Take the yolk of an egg, spread liberally on face. Take care not to get it in your hair or eyebrows becuase it's hard to get out (not impossible or damaging, just icky). Wait till it drys completely, peel off, and wash face. Do it for a month, and then once a month if it seems to come back. Totally works, but takes a lot of patience. Plus, peeling it off can be messy. Washing it off is also an option, but that's slimy and I don't think it works as well.

Dry skin... and how do you get rid of it?
have you tried baby oil??? palmers cocoa butter is really good too...
Reply:Try uding a teaspoon of vinigar and a teaspoon of honey. Mix it and rub it into your legs.
Reply:exfoliate well in the shower before shaving and in between shaves. use moisturizing shaving cream. moisturize well when dry -do this often and with a rich cream. stay away from store brands and try to skip the fancy smelling lotions. i like to use baby oil in the shower just before i dry off. drink lots of water and use a vaporizer or humidifier in your home.
Reply:wow that sucks!!! You should talk to you're doctor or see a dermatologist and ask them to give you a really good and strong moisturizing cream for them if that doesn't work ask them if there's any sort of medicine you could take and also make sure to drink plenty of water!!!!
Reply:Hi

Have you tried using a pure moisteriser like E45? If so then you should see a doctor and get their advice. It may be you have mild ezema or a skin condition that causes the scalyness.... he should be able to prescribe you some cream to sort it if the normal noisterisers dont work.

But def try E45 first - its great stuff!

Reply:have you asked your doctor about it? there might be something a dermatologist could prescribe that would help get rid of it. it might be worth checking in to.
Reply:Some creams don`t work as good as they say they do. Try eucerin cream every night. It really works. You can also use a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of vinigar and rub it on your legs.
Reply:Try Gold Bond lotion it works like a charm!
Reply:I have had dry skin problems, especially in the winter months, when the air is very dry. My solution came after alot of eliminations. I have found that Omega 3 ( fish oil) helps to moisturize your skin from the inside out. Any fish oil goes directly to your skin. Omega 3 is in a pill form--a large capsule that is easy to swallow. Take one everyday and you will notice after about 3 days that the itching stops.
Reply:soak in a warm bath with vasoline bath soak atleast 2 times a week and apply cetaphil moisturizing cream 3 to 4 times a week
Reply:Drink adequate fluid, at least 8 glasses a day, including water, fruit juice, soup, etc.

Eat at least 2 portions of green, leafy vegetables and 2 portions of seasonal fruits daily.

Avoid junk food as much as possible.

Don't smoke.

Use moisturising body lotions adequately and regularly.

Avoid hot, dry weather as much as possible.

Avoid soap; use face wash, liquid moisture rich hand wash and bath gel instead.

Use hand cream, foot cream and overnight face cream daily.

Try Vit. E capsules (400 mg/day).

Avoid frequent steam baths.

If you don't get favourable results with the above steps, consult a cosmetologist/dermatologist.

Reply:So everyone that has answered so far is telling you about topical applications. My advise is WATER. Drink more water. I had hideously dry skin, shiny shins (sound familiar to you?), just awful flaking and yes, I could scratch the word "dry" into my skin. I started to drink more water and now it's so much better, REALLY! Just increase your water intake. If that doesn't help (along with the lotions and oils you can try), how about checking in with your local Endocrinologist? It could be a thyroid issue.
Reply:You can try to use miho medicated bath salt (very fine texture, shampoo size - 550g) and miho cleansing milk to do a scrub daily or on alternative day. Afterwhich you apply the miho milk lotion on the area. Do it regularly and you should be able to see the effect. This bath salt can also be used as a body scrub and even on the face.

Is the wrinkle myth true about wearing makeup young?

My friend (12) wears foundation, toner, mascara, eyeliner, coverup, and eye shadow every single day. She says that her skin will be fine when she gets older but i've heard hat if you wear too much makeup at a young age it matures your skin and you get wrinkles and bumps easier.

Is it true?

Is the wrinkle myth true about wearing makeup young?
No, it is totally a myth. That was started by parents who didn't want their kids to wear makeup too young. Dont believe it. Todays makeup actually is good for your skin. It contains vitamins and minerals, ans sunscreen that your skin needs.
Reply:I'm not sure if it promotes wrinkles but it can lead to acne if not cleaned properly. It is silly to wear so much makeup at such a young age. Does she have bad skin? Maybe you two should have a girls day and get makeovers at a salon. That will teach her how to put on makeup properly.
Reply:Not true. Wrinkles come from frowning and smiling and from a loss of collegen in your skin, a loss of fat under the skin, dryness and thinning of the skin as you age. The only truth here could be the dryness associated with makeup. 12 years is really too young to be wearing that much makeup. Men will get the wrong ideas. Enjoy being your own age!
Reply:ya but you can use some cream to get rid of wrinkles
Reply:i choose to believe it cuz u can get wrinkles just from the evryday facial expressions. makeup is not good for ur skin, so when u get old, it will retaliate

Does anyone have any experience using skin-so-soft for fleas?

A week ago I asked about garlic for dogs to help with fleas. Thank you all for your responses on that question.

I got to thinking about when I was younger and remembered about skin-so-soft. I remember it being effective against many different kinds of bugs and was wondering if anyone has ever tried it on dogs for fleas?

Skin-so-soft is cheaper then buying frontline or any of the topical flea treatments and with money being tight, skin-so-soft is soemthing we can fit into our budget at this time.

Does anyone have any experience using skin-so-soft for fleas?
My mom used Skin-so-soft on her cats and it worked pretty well. They REALLY hated it, though. I remember I sprayed some on my legs after a bath when I was visiting herand when I walked past one of the cats she got all p!ssed off. I'm like, "Mom, what the hell's wrong with your cat??" We couldn't figure it out at first, then we realized it must have been because I smelled like the skin-so-soft. Lol.
Reply:Its only good for mosquitoes. Get frontline, its worth the expense when you consider the fleas getting out of control. Flea bombs are expensive too. And to really clean them up you need to repeat in 10 days. So you really should consider frontline its so easy and once a month. Good Luck!
Reply:Haven't heard about using Avon on dogs, but have heard that Neem Oil will keep fleas away. (sold at health food stores)

There are other varieties of flea/tick that are cheaper (Top Spot, Hartz, etc.) Don't know how good they are though.
Reply:Skin so soft is great for repelling mosquitoes and fly's but I have never heard of it also for fleas.

I would not thrust it for that purpose.
Reply:It helps some but even diluted you end up with oily coats that attract dirt. The solid skin so soft did not work for me.They sure smelled good though
Reply:You're right not to trust store-bought products, let me tell you.

I want to you to factor this in to your equations - only veterinary treatments work, that's why they charge more for them. Like everything, you get what you pay for. Of course skin-so-soft is cheaper than Frontline - would Frontline even exist if skin-so-soft killed fleas?!

The last lady I met who went down the money-saver route for fleas had a £140 bill to save her cat from poisoning. Worth thinking about.

I'd love for anyone to try to explain how skin-so-soft is supposed to kill fleas!!

Does anyone feel like they have to wear makeup? (Bad Skin or Other)?

Ever since I was a young age I had bad skin and I tried everything for it Proactive (alergic) and most over the conter medicines, Then I went to a dermitoligist and got pills and two kinds of creams and my skin is better but still not perfect. I am very picky about always wearing foundation to cover up my face I dont usaly go over board on like eye makeup or anything elese but it gets so frustraiting because if my boyfriend dosnt like that I am so crazy about it he always says you dont need makeup but I seriously do, I have left the house before without makeup but I refused to get out of the car and I put my head down and my hands by my face so that no passing cars could see me. The only people that see me without makeup are my boyfriend or my family. I even hate it when my boyfriend touches my face because I am afraid he will take my makeup off when he touches! I finaly started taking birthconrol but at this point I dont know if my skin will ever get 100% clear.

Does anyone feel like they have to wear makeup? (Bad Skin or Other)?
I've been pretty manic about my skin before too (I went to a dermatologist as a teen and have had improvements but never good skin except when I was pregnant). My pores are huge and wearing makeup makes them worse but I look better with it on. You really do have to get over the feeling though because it can cause a psychological impact, really. Try a tinted moisturizer and or pore minimizer and go with the eye makeup that makes you the most confident. Boyfriends should love us regardless but I know it makes it seem like they won't if we're not attractive to them! He wouldn't be with you if he didn't at least find you attractive!
Reply:Yes, I feel the same as you. I don't think I remember when I have ever left my house without any makeup. I know that sounds aweful, but the truth, I do try Proactive, and it does help a little. I clean my face with the cleanser, then the astringer, apply some moisterizer right before I go to bed and again in the morning right before I put on my makeup. I seems like it is working. If you ever find something that actually works, let us know.

Nivea young?

i got a free sample of nivea young and it makes my skin look really good after the cleasning and sheer scrubbing of any black heads.. but its got tinting in the moisturiser, what are the downfalls and what about prolongued usage. will i look like an olive/leather purse?

Nivea young?
its fine as its only a mosturiser with a tint, however, if you suffer from oily skin it might not be a good idea as it could clog your pores

ps. dont put too much on or you will look like an olive/leather purse!
Reply:There is one that is reallt good without the tint.
Reply:I use that stuff all the time and haven't had any problems, if you got oily it might clog your pores though. And it's not good if you felt your cheeks burn. They do one without the tint that is just as good. :)

Does anyone know of a skin condition where the hands are very wrinkled?

My sister has always hand old looking hands (she's only 23). We used to have a young neighbor with the same skin condition. Does anyone know what I am talking about or what it's called?

Another thing is that she was told it envolves her having extra layers of skin.- Thanks -

I used to play with the wrinkles on the backs of her hands (in her 50s) and she said "You just wait. You have them, too." I'm in my 40s and I am at the beginning stage of it. I moisturize like CRAZY!
Reply:the extra layers of skin is Psoriasis but it usually manifest as a scaly look ( you can peel scales of skin off and they grow back within hours or days )
Reply:Exposure to dish water can cause a condition called "Dermatitis" and is treated with applications of Eucerine cream.
Reply:sounds like hard workin hands that need olive oil or vaseline on at night.

chapstick is better than nothing or cookin oil.

She needs to do this now or when she is 43, her hands may look 83

Reply:OMG!! i have that! i never knew what it was!! i juss thought that it was part of my eczema!!
Reply:It is a possibility that the wrinkled hands are a result of the hormone androgen levels which may inhibit the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and thereby reduce the oil production of the oil glands. This, however, would require various tests to confirm. Wrinkled fingers may also result because the keratin-laden cornified epithelium of hands and feet take up water; the swollen keratin causes the wrinkling. Skin on other parts of our bodies, which is thinner and doesn't have nearly as thick a stratum corneum (the dead layer that is mostly keratin), and doesn't wrinkle. Thestratum corneum is by far the thickest on palms and soles because the keratin is needed in places where the epidermis gets the most wear. There is a condition called Ictheosos. Depending on the type of gene abnormality that causes ichthyosis, the skin can show different patterns of flaking. In most cases of ichthyosis vulgaris, for example, skin will flake over the majority of the body, but not on the inside surfaces of joints, in the groin area or on the face. However, this does not resemble the signs that you describe.

Hope this helps

How do I get whiter skin?

When I was younger, I had whiter skin, right now I am tan because when I was little, I stayed on the sun a lot, and I've been tan about five years now. I want my whiter skin back because I know I look better that way. I know theres cream to get whiter skin, but im scared to use it, Im afraid there can be side affects for that. Is there any other ways to get white skin? Is my tan skin perminent? HELP!! :)

How do I get whiter skin?
I'd advice using sunscreen on a daily basis, also a highly moisturizing cream or lotion and wearing long sleeves from time to time.

Reply:Stay inside more. You could move to Ireland or Seattle; some place that rains a lot. I don't know of any cream that will actually bleach your skin. Wear sunscreen with a high SPF when you go outside.
Reply:Boil potato, then mix with fresh milk (no sugar), and make mask weekly. When coming out, use sunblock.

Don't use chemical stuff, it hurts your skin.
Reply:Make shure you don't use that cream. It makes your skin look worse.- I think that tan looks better on people. Besides, if anything you can always do what Michael Jackson did! -Just kidding-don't do that Jackson thing! He's weared.

Question About My Skin?

I wanted to know why my skin color has been changing so much as I get older, when I was younger I was fair skinned or olive skinned and then as I got older i started to get like a tannish brown color like the color of Phillipiono but alittle lighter. I am of mixed race Caucasian and African American. Why is my skin color chaging so much how do I get my color back I had when I was like 5 or 7.

Question About My Skin?
Probably cumulative sun damage. I'm Caucasian, and my skin is getting darker as I get older too.

You may get some fading with a banishing or fade cream.
Reply:Maybe your outside in the sun too much? I don't know..my skin changed too.
Reply:There're quiet few factors for influencing the skin colour.bad diet, stress, alcohol and sun damage.AS well there's wind infuence in our skin tone.I suggest you to use natural steam moisturiser and keep yr skin moisture enough with same time right sun block.
Reply:change in skin color is due to accumulated everyday exposure to the sun without protection.. since you have african american blood, the melanin content in your skin may have a high concentration and thus tend to darken when exposed to sunlight..

getting back to your original color can be done with the use of skin lightening products coupled with sunblock protection.. when you look for skin lighteners, always make sure they don't contain hydroquinone or mercury, which causes more skin damage or cancer after long term use, even with the use of sunblock.. regarding sunblock, look for products that block both UVB and UVA rays..

i recommend this site for your skin lightening products because they sell them with safe ingredients, give good sunscreen reviews, tell you how to successfully achieve your desired rosy white skin.. i'm one satisfied user -

Bad facial skin - need help?

I'm a 25 years old dude. When I was young, I had beautiful facial skin - no visible pores, no blackheads and no whiteheads. Everyone called me a beautiful boy back then. As I grow older, pores on my face/nose have become more visible, and I get white and blackheads. I have oily skin type. My face gets filled with oil easily, and I don't know why. What can I do to get rid of them and get my beautiful face back? I do whatever it takes! I just bought a neutrogena scrub - will it help? Also, why scrub has the sand alike stuff in it? Also, at work, what should I do to clean the oil off my face? I don't want to wash my face with those facial products in the men's bathroom cuz it makes me look gay.

Bad facial skin - need help?
You say you have a scrub. Use that 2 times a week. Also, go buy some Neutrogena face soap(the orange bar). Wash with that 2 times each day, morning and night. If you have long hair, keep it off your face, especially while you sleep. Find a moisturizer made for oily skin, and use that after washing. There's also those toner things that work well.

With the Neutrogena bar, you can use that anywhere, it just looks like a bar of soap. Or, there's those little Biore wipes you can get, they just look like a baby wipe.
Reply:PRO ACTIVE works.
Reply:go to a dermatologist, they will match a good cleanser for yor skin, and remove your blackheads
Reply:USE PROACTIVE..and do it at home if u don't want to look gay.
Reply:Changing what you eat can help.
Reply:eat healthy
Reply:SOMETIMES U MIGHT HAVE TO SEE A DOCTOR AND GET ANTIBIOTICS,,keep trying everything,,at work use alcohol and a cotton ball..heres one try DAWN anti bacterial dishwashing liquid
Reply:Noxema Triple Clean Antibacterial Lathering Cleanser works wonders. If you don't want to wash the oil off your face during the day, Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets work well....especially to use throughout the day.
Reply:ok, the scrub is a good start. The "sand" will help buff off the top layer of skin, which will help get rid of black and white heads. If your skin is oily, is probably because you dont use a moisturizer. You can go to macys, or bath and body works, and get skin care products there for men. Lab Series is good one. They have a whole line that can make your skin pretty again :)
Reply:as for why the scrubs are the way that they are will all the beads in it, it is because the little beads which feel like sand actually are used to exfoliate your skin, giving you a healthy glow. just because you wash and takecare of your face does not mean that you are gay! look for masks, a 3 step system that will contain a lotion to minimize the appearance of pores and so forth.good luck!look some stuff up on the web at ulta.com or sephora.com since the stores are not for girls anymore.
Reply:You should get a facial once a month to help with the blackheads. Lots of men get them. You can even find spas that are only for men. They gently remove all the blackheads.

Or, use the Biore Perfect Pore strips. They work for men and women.

For work, you can get facial wash that comes in thin strips that dissolve in your hand with a bit of water. The whole pack fits in your pocket, and you use one thin strip each time you wash, so no one has to see a big bottle or anything. I'm pretty sure Clean and Clear makes some. Ask at Target or Wal-Mart.

Finally, use a moisturizer that has salycilic acid in it. It works to keep oil away and fights blemishes. I use the Clean and Clear Dual Action moisturizer. It's light and smooth and makes a huge difference. My roommates (both guys) also use it.
Reply:My husband has the same problem.

Using an exfoliating scrub like you got should help.

Also, a weekly mud mask can reduce clogs. I like the one made by St. Ives, it works and is cheap. When you first start to use it, you may want to try every three days or so, because you will pull all kinds of junk to the surface, and may have a break out.

Both of these are best done after a hot shower, to open the pores and give you clean skin to work with.
Reply:your skin is going threw puberty still...when you were young everyones skin was already going threw this aand ended along ago.

you should always wash your face rather you look gay or not..(i think people who dont wash there face is dirty and oily)

you have too options.

*look gay but have your beautiful skin again

*dont look gay and have the same ugly skin

Sleep on a clean pillow case every few days, you can put tea tree oil on it at night, use the mint julep mask t wice a week. That really helps. Also make sure you exfoliate twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells. Make sure your clenser has acne medicine and most importantly drink plenty of water. That will help the most. I used to have problem skin, but now it is smooth and clear. I also put baking soda mixed with water on my face nad take a shower. it helps to exfoliate. That is what makes it baby soft. Good luck. What works for one person might not work for others. Using witch hazel as an astrigent also helps some people. I know the baking soda will get your skin noticably smooth right after you do it.
